Marsh Mood

The marshes are one of my favorite places. Wild life is plentiful and in every season and type of weather the colors are rich and beautiful.

Wind Over the Marsh

The clouds and birds were flying around the day I painted at Brave Boat Harbor. From where I stood I could see a bit of the ocean beyond the acres of marsh grasses.

Lakeside Reflections

On my painting trips through western Massachusetts there is a tiny lake in a state park I love to visit. I used to picnic here with my family when I was little. It hasn't changed at all. its still wild and rustic. It is in a remote area and always quiet after Labor Day. The cottages across the lake are empty and I have the place to myself. I love sitting on the shore in the warm late summer sun painting.

Friendship, Maine is one of my favorite towns on the midcoast. There are so many lobster shacks on the harbor it looks like a village on stilts.

Maine: Sturdy Workers

Two Tugs 4x6 oil on canvas panel

Huge ships are guided up the river in Portsmouth Harbor to the numerous docks to unload their important cargo. These sturdy work horses do the job.
